How does egg self-preservation work?
Egg self-preservation involves several steps, starting with ovarian stimulation, a process in which hormones are given so that the ovaries produce multiple eggs instead of the usual one that is released each month. This process takes about 10 to 14 days.
Once the eggs are mature, egg retrieval, or “follicular aspiration,” is performed, a minimally invasive procedure that is performed under sedation.
The eggs obtained are evaluated and, if they meet the quality requirements, they are subjected to a process called vitrification, which is an advanced rapid freezing technique.
