Citizen Participation Policy Adoption Procedure (PPSS)

To determine the methodology for the management, education and communication of the citizen participation policy in Fertivida.

5.1 Mission

5.2 Vision

The Fertivida SAS A 2022 Fertility Unit will be recognized as a benchmark among the Assisted Reproduction Centers in Colombia for its care model with an individualized approach and holistic approach for each of our cases.

5.3 Social Participation in Health (PPSS)

It is a process of active, responsible, coherent and proactive intervention that the individual carries out individually or collectively in the making of decisions that affect their life and/or that of the community.

In Fertivida, what is sought with the PPSS is to respond to the problems, needs, difficulties, opportunities, limitations and weaknesses that affect social participation in health, in the perspective of complying with the current legal framework and therefore the realization of the human right of participation linked to the right to health (Art 12 Law 1751 of 2015).

Its objective is: To define and develop the guidelines that allow the State to guarantee the right to Social Participation in Health and its strengthening and to citizens the appropriation of mechanisms and conditions to exercise Social Participation in Health.

5.3.1 Mechanisms and spaces for participation

In order to promote the right to participation in the health sector, the Ministry, territorial entities, EAPB and IPS will implement scenarios to stimulate compliance with the objectives of Social Participation in Health, as follows:

  • Identify and arrange the communication channels and the electronic and face-to-face means to provide information to the public.
  • Identify and develop institutional mechanisms or spaces to advance processes of discussion, negotiation and agreement.
  • Establish mechanisms to facilitate citizen oversight and participation of social groups and citizens in social control of institutional management.
  • Identify, by mission area, the thematic initiatives on which participation exercises can be carried out.
  • Establish participatory dialogues in the health sector instances.
  • Guarantee the recognition of democratically elected representatives.
  • Implement the application of information and communication technologies to facilitate access to information and provide spaces for citizens to express their opinions on issues of interest in health.
  • Implement participatory dialogues as meeting spaces between authorities and the community in order to collect comments directly and in person.
